BMI Urban Music Awards 2012 [Palmarès]

Cette rentrée est inondée de trophées et autres récompenses. A peine a-t-on assisté aux VMA (la soirée du 6 Septembre) qu'ont lieu les BMI Urban Music Awards (la soirée du 7 Septembre), également en Californie.
(BMI = Broadcast Music, Inc. = un des grands acteurs de la gestion des droits d'auteur aux States).
Destinée à mettre à récompenser les meilleures compositions de la musique urbaine de 2011 (et fin 2010), la cérémonie avait mis à l'honneur Mariah Carey lors de cette édition, lui octroyant le prix on-ne-peut-plus mérité d’icône BMI.

Également à l'honneur cette année, Drake qui est - de même que l'année dernière - désigné songwriter de l'année. Un prix qu'il doit cette fois partager avec Lil Wayne, puisqu'ils ont chacun contribué à l'écriture de 7 morceaux. Je me réjouis une fois de plus de succès de Drake récompensé pour 7 sons tous aussi excellents les uns que les autres (Aston Martin Music, Headlines, I’m On One, Moment 4 Life, Right Above It, She Will, What’s My Name?). Congrats Drizzy ! And Weezy too !

La cérémonie est décidément dominée par Young Money. Le prix de la chanson urbaine de l'année revient à Nicki Minaj pour Super Bass. Félicitations à elle :D

Cette année encore ce sont d'excellents sons qui ont été désignés chansons urbaines de l'année, mais pas de surprises ce sont souvent celles qui ont le plus cartonné dans le format sur la période concernée. Des morceaux que j'adore à l'image de 5 O'Clock, All Of The Lights, Aston Martin Music, Can't Be Friend, Down On Me, Fly, Headlines, I'm On One, Moment 4 Life, Motivation, My Last, Niggas In Paris, Out Of My Head, She Ain't You, She Will...
